국문 초록
It can be said that ne is a sentence-final particle frequently used in the daily conversations of Japanese speakers, yet for beginning learners of Japanese, its usage is rather complex and poses certain difficulties in acquisition. Based on this, the present study takes the 2019 television drama I Will Not Work Overtime, Period! as its corpus, sorts out the instances of ne that appear in the drama, and analyzes them in terms of usage contexts and semantic functions. The findings reveal that the primary function of ne is to express mild exclamation, accounting for 70.8% of the occurrences. This is followed by its use for mild confirmation (11.5%). In contrast, the functions of “seeking the interlocutor’s agreement” (8.9%) and “posing a question” (8.9%) occur relatively less frequently.
