국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 간편 행동억제기질검사(SBIS)를 한국어로 번역하여 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하고 표준화하고자 하였다. 방법: 검증 과정에는 말을 더듬는 아동의 부모 141명과 말을 더듬지 않는 아동의 부모 54명이 포함되어 SBIS의 내용 타당성, 구성 타당성, 내적 일관성 신뢰도를 검토했다. 결과: 한국어판 SBIS는 높은 타당도와 신뢰도를 보였다. 행동억제 임계점수 비교 결과, 말더듬 아동 집단과 말더듬지 않는 아동 집단 간 행동억제 성향에서 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았지만, 말더듬이 유지되고 있다고 보고된 집단이 말더듬이 감소한다고 보고된 집단보다 행동억제 성향이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고, 한국 아동(11점)이 미국 아동(13점; Ntourou et al., 2020)보다 낮은 임계점수를 보여 행동억제 성향에서 문화적 차이가 있을 수 있음이 시사되었다. 논의 및 결론: 전반적으로, 본 연구를 통해, SBIS는 한국의 말더듬 아동의 행동억제를 평가하는 데 적합한 도구임이 입증되었으며, 앞으로 이 도구를 통해 개별 아동의 기질적 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 치료 전략 수립에 대한 논의가 이루어지길 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to standardize the Short Behavioral Inhibition Scale (SBIS) in Korean to assess behavioral inhibition in Korean children who stutter. To achieve this, the researchers conducted a validation process to examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the SBIS. Methods: A total of 195 parents participated in the study, including 141 parents of children who stutter and 54 parents of children who do not stutter. The research team assessed the content validity, construct validity, and internal consistency reliability of the SBIS to ensure its credibility as a measurement tool. Results: The findings indicated that the Korean version of the SBIS demonstrated strong validity and reliability. Additionally, a comparison of behavioral inhibition threshold scores between Korean and U.S. children revealed that the Korean children tended to be more behaviorally inhibited than U.S. children. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study confirmed that the Korean version of the SBIS is a valid and reliable tool for assessing behavioral inhibition in children who stutter. It is expected that this tool will contribute to the development of individualized treatment approaches tailored to the temperamental characteristics of each child.
