A Study on Ethical Behavior for Organizational Information Security Management: Focusing on the Roles of Ethical Leadership, Trust in Organizations, and Psychological Ownership

국문 초록

오늘날 디지털 시대에 정보보안 사고에 대한 우려가 커지면서 직원들의 윤리적행동 강화는 기업들의 중요한 과제가 되었다. 이에 따라, 본 연구는 직원들의 윤리적 행동을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 상사의 윤리적 리더십, 직원들의 조직에 대한 신뢰, 그리고 직원들의 심리적 주인의식과 같은 요인들이 직원들의 윤리적 행동에 영향을 미치는 메커니즘을 분석할 수있는 연구모형을 개발했다. 데이터는 설문을 통해 수집하였으며, 총 433개의 표본을 대상으로 부분최소자승 구조방정식 모형(PLS-SEM) 기법을 통해 연구모형을분석하였다. 분석 결과, 상사의 윤리적 리더십은 직원들의 조직에 대한 신뢰와 심리적 주인의식에 유의적인 영향을 미치고, 직원들의 심리적 주인의식은 다시 그들의 윤리적 행동에 유의적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 규명할 수 있었다. 또한, 직원들의 조직에 대한 신뢰가 상사의 윤리적 리더십과 직원들의 심리적 주인의식 사이에서 매개역할을 한다는 점도 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 직원의 윤리적 행동과 관련된 인지 메커니즘을 활용하여 정보보안 성과를 향상시킬 수 있는 새로운 관점을 제시한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구에서 논의된 분석 결과와 다양한 시사점들은 향후 정보보안 성과 향상을 위한 전략 수립에 유용한 정보와 통찰을 제공할 수 있을것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

In today’s digital era, growing concerns over information security incidents have made strengthening employees’ ethical behavior a critical task for companies. Accordingly, this study sought to explore ways to promote employees’ ethical behavior. To this end, this study developed a research model that examines the psychological mechanisms by which supervisors’ ethical leadership, employees’ trust in the organization, and employees' psychological ownership influence their employees’ ethical behavior. Data were collected through a survey, and the proposed model was tested using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) based on 433 valid responses. The results show that supervisors’ ethical leadership significantly influences employees’ trust in the organization and their psychological ownership, which in turn significantly affects their ethical behavior. Additionally, employees’ trust in the organization was found to mediate the relationship between supervisors’ ethical leadership and psychological ownership. This study is significant in that it provides a new perspective on the potential use of cognitive mechanisms related to employees' ethical behavior to improve information security performance. The findings and implications discussed in this study are expected to provide useful insights for developing effective strategies to enhance organizational information security performance.
