국문 초록

본 연구는 도시 생태공간에서 성인의 자연 드로잉 활동을 통해 자연연결성이 어떻게증진되는지를 탐구한 질적 사례연구이다. 여의도 샛강생태공원에서 20개월간 진행된프로그램에 참여한 성인 학습자 12명을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰, 참여관찰, 작품 분석을통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 자연연결성 증진은 감각적 각성, 정서적 연결, 생태적 이해, 생태적 정체성의 4단계 과정을 통해 이루어졌다. 감각적 각성에서는둔화된 감각의 회복이, 정서적 연결에서는 특정 자연 대상과의 친밀한 관계 형성이나타났다. 생태적 이해 단계에서는 생태계 상호연결성의 직관적 이해가, 생태적 정체성단계에서는 자신을 생태계의 유기적 구성원으로 인식하는 존재론적 전환이 이루어졌다. 이 과정은 나선형적 심화와 순환적 강화를 보였으며 지속적인 자연과의 만남이 핵심조건으로 작용하였다. 또한 도시 생태공간은 자연 가치의 재발견, 일상적 접근성을통한 관계 형성, 압축된 생태계에서의 집중적 체험이라는 고유한 교육적 효과를 제공하였다. 특히 드로잉 활동이 구체적 신체 경험을 통해 자연연결성 증진의 핵심 요소로작용함을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 자연연결성 이론을 성인 학습과 미술 교육 영역으로 확장하였으며, 체험 중심 미술 교육의 지속 가능한 실천 방향을 제시한다. 또한성인 학습자 관점에서 자연 드로잉 활동의 경험적 의미를 탐구한 사례를 제공한다는점에서 학술적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This qualitative case study investigated how nature drawing activities enhance adult learners' nature connectedness in urban ecological spaces. Data were collected from 12 participants in a 20-month program at Seoul's Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park through interviews, participant observation, and artwork analysis. The study identified four stages: sensory awakening, emotional connection, ecological understanding, and ecological identity. Participants progressed from recovering dulled senses through multi-sensory engagement to forming bonds with natural objects, recognizing ecosystem interconnectedness, and ultimately seeing themselves as members of the ecosystem. This process unfolded as a spiral of deepening, with sustained encounters serving as a core condition. Urban ecological spaces provided unique effects: the rediscovery of nature's value through contrast with the city, relationship formation through accessibility, and intensive observation in compressed ecosystems. These findings extend the theory of nature connectedness into adult learning and art education, demonstrating the potential of experiential art education for fostering ecological citizenship and offering new directions for environmental education.
