국문 초록
This study is a case analysis of two non-Japanese language majors who, despite having only beginner-level Japanese skills, successfully secured employment in Japan. Through open-ended interviews, the study explores four main themes: the motivation behind pursuing employment in Japan, Japanese language learning methods and strategies, challenges faced during the preparation process and how they were overcome, and advice for future applicants.
The analysis revealed that even learners without a Japanese language background can, through personal motivation, self-directed study, consistent practice, and real-world experience, significantly improve their Japanese skills in a short period and successfully obtain employment.
Furthermore, by highlighting the specific experiences of non-Japanese majors in their job search process, the study offers practical implications for Japanese language education aimed at employment. Future research should include learners from more diverse backgrounds and examine their use of Japanese in the workplace after employment in Japan.
영문 초록
本研究は、日本語を専攻しておらず、初級レベルから日本就職を目指し、実際に内定を得た2名の学習者の就職準備の経験を分析した事例研究である。オープンエンド型のインタビューを通じて、日本就職を志すことになった契機、日本語学習方法と戦略、就職を準備する過程での困難さとその克服経験、後輩へのアドバイスという4つの項目を中心に分析を行った。 その結果、日本語の非専攻者かつ初級学習者であっても、個人的な動機、自主的な学習、継続的な実践、実質的な経験を通して短期間で日本語能力を高め、就職につなげることが可能であることが確認された。また、日本語非専攻者による就職準備の経験を具体的に明らかにすることで、日本就職を目指す学習者に対する教育的示唆を提示することができた。 今後は、より多様な背景をもつ学習者を対象とした研究へと広げるとともに、日本就職後の、職場における日本語使用実態に関する追跡調査を課題としたい。
