증강텍스트 읽기 수업에 대한 독자의 흥미 연구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 ‘읽기 흥미’에 관한 선행 연구를 고찰하고, ‘증강텍스트 읽기’ 수업에 나타난 독자의 읽기 흥미 특성을 탐색해 본다. 읽기 흥미는 독서 행위의 자발성을 높이고, 동기를 유발한다는 측면에서 텍스트의 매체적 특성에 따라 어떠한 읽기 흥미와 관련되고, 독서 경험의 양상에도 어떠한 시사점을 주는지 탐구해 본다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 독서교육에서 정의적 영역의 ‘읽기 흥미’의 개념과 특성을 이론적으로 고찰하였다. 또한, 증강텍스트 읽기 경험으로의 국어 수업에서 상황적 흥미 요인이 어떠한 관계가 있는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 증강텍스트 읽기 독서 수업은 『아름답고 신기한 새(김재환, 2019)』, 『반구대 AR, 세계 최고 바위그림(구광렬, 2017)』을 토대로 설계되었다. 문헌 연구를 통해 고찰된 독자의 흥미에 대한 특성을 증강텍스트 읽기 수업에서 어떻게 해석할 수 있는지 분석하였다. 연구결과: 증강텍스트 읽기 수업에서 상황적 흥미는 첫째, 텍스트의 다양한 양식이 상호작용하며 독자가 텍스트를 이해하는 데 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 증강현실 앱을 활용한 즉각적·직감적인 읽기는 학생들의 상황적 흥미를 유발할 수 있다. 셋째, 독자는 증강텍스트 읽기 수업에 참여하며 상황적 흥미를 느끼고 감각적 몰입을 통해 역동적인 의미 구성을 할 수 있다. 학생들이 증강텍스트 읽기 수업을 통해 상황적 흥미를 지속적으로 경험하게 되면서 장기적으로는 개인적 흥미로 발달할 수도 있고, 성공적인 읽기 경험을 축적하며 읽기 효능감을 향상하는 계기가 될 수 있다. 다만, 시각적·청각적 요소에 과도하게 의존할 경우, 학생들이 텍스트 자체를 읽고 이해하는 의미 구성의 과정이 약화될 수 있음을 교수자는 수업 설계 시 유념하여야 한다. 결론: 본 연구에서는 독자의 흥미를 문헌 연구를 통해 분석해 보고, 증강텍스트를 활용한 읽기 수업을 설계해 보고자 하였다. 이를 통해, 매체 환경의 변화 속에 학생들이 경험할 수 있는 새로운 읽기 수업의 확장을 제안한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study examined prior research on “reading interest” and explored the characteristics of readers' reading interest as revealed in “Augmented Text Reading” classes. Given that reading interest enhances spontaneity and motivates reading, this study explored how the media characteristics of texts are associated with reading interest, motivating readers, and what implications this has for the reading experience. Methods: To this end, this study theoretically examined the concept and characteristics of “reading interest,” a domain of affective engagement in reading education. Furthermore, we examined the relationship between situational interest and contextual interest in Korean language classes that utilize augmented text reading experiences. Results: As students continuously experience contextual interest through augmented text reading classes, it can develop into personal interest in the long term, and it can serve as an opportunity to accumulate successful reading experiences and enhance reading efficacy. However, instructors should keep in mind when designing classes that excessively rely on visual and auditory elements, that they can weaken students' ability to read and comprehend the text itself. Conclusion: This study analyzed readers' interests through a literature review and designed a reading class utilizing augmented text. Through this, a new way to expand reading instruction, tailored to students' experiences in a changing media environment, is proposed.
