국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 복제와 생성형 인공지능의 확산이 디자인 창작의 개념, 특히 오리지널리티의 의미를 어떻게 재구성하는지를 탐구한다. 벤야민의 아우라 개념과 보드리야르의 시뮬라크르 논의를 토대로, 복제와 창작이 대립적이지 않고 긴장 속에 공존하는 과정을 분석하였다. Midjourney와 Stable Diffusion사례는 데이터 기반의 이미지 생성이 독창성과 모방의 경계를 모호하게 함을 보여준다. 이에 따라 오리지널리티는 절대적 독창성이 아니라 데이터와 알고리즘, 사회적 맥락이 교차하는 관계적·분산적 창의성으로 재정의된다. 나아가 법적·윤리적 규범의 재편과 디자인 리터러시 교육의 혁신이 요구되며, 이는 단순한 기술적 대응을 넘어 창작자·제도·교육 전반에 새로운 실천적 지침을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study examines how the proliferation of digital reproduction and generative artificial intelligence reshapes the concept of originality in design. Building on Walter Benjamin’s notion of aura and Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra, the analysis highlights the coexistence of reproduction and creation within a field of tension rather than opposition. Case studies of Midjourneyand Stable Diffusiondemonstrate how data-driven image generation blurs the boundaries between imitation and originality. Consequently, originality is redefined as a relational and distributed creativity that emerges through the intersection of data, algorithms, and socio-cultural contexts. Furthermore, the study argues for the restructuring of legal and ethical frameworks as well as the innovation of design literacy education. These insights provide practical guidance that extends beyond technological adaptation to encompass creators, institutions, and pedagogy as a whole.
