국문 초록

본 연구는 현대 사회에서 증가하는 온라인 상호작용이 개인의 심리적 고통에 미치는 영향을 탐구하고, 그 과정에서 오프라인 대인관계능력이 매개효과를 가지는지 분석하였다. 온라인 관계 지향성은 개인이 온라인 상호작용을 선호하고 오프라인 관계보다 디지털 환경에서의 상호작용에 가치를 두는 경향을 말한다. 본 연구는 대한민국 성인 300명을 대상으로 전문 조사업체 서베이링크를 통해 2024년 11월 13일부터 2024년 11월 15일까지 설문조사를 실시하여 온라인 관계 지향성이 개인의 심리적 고통에 미치는 영향과 이를 대인관계능력이 매개하는지 평가하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 온라인 관계 지향성은 대인관계능력의 5개의 하위 요인 중 중 '권리주장'에 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 온라인 관계 지향성은 개인의 심리적 고통에도 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, ‘권리주장’은 온라인 관계 지향성과 심리적 고통 사이의 관계에서 부분 매개효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 본 연구에서는 온라인 관계 지향성과 관련된 심리적 고통 문제를 완화하기 위한 대인관계 개선 프로그램 개발 및 관련 정책의 필요성을 주장하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study explored the impact of increasing online interaction in modern society on individuals’ psychological distress, with a focus on whether offline interpersonal competence mediates this relationship. Online relational orientation refers to an individual’s preference for online interaction and tendency to value digital environments over offline relationships. The study surveyed 300 Korean adults through the professional survey company Surveylink from November 13 to November 15, 2024, to assess the effect of online relational orientation on psychological distress and the mediating role of interpersonal competence. The results showed that online relational orientation had a negative effect on the ‘assertiveness’ subfactor of interpersonal competence. Additionally, online relational orientation was found to have a negative impact on psychological distress. Furthermore, ‘assertiveness’ partially mediated the relationship between online relational orientation and psychological distress. Based on these findings, the study suggests the need for the development of interpersonal improvement programs and related policies to mitigate psychological distress associated with online relational orientation.
