ATS-539 초음파 팬텀을 이용한 초음파 영상 장치의 성능 실태조사

국문 초록

본 연구는 ATS-539 초음파 팬텀을 이용하여 의료기관과 교육기관에서 사용 중인 초음파 장비의 영상 성능을 평가하고, 장비의 사용 연한 및 정도관리 수행 여부에 따른 성능 차이를 분석하여, 향후 국가 차원의 품질관리 기준 정립 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다. 2023년 1월부터 2월까지 서울·경기 지역의 의료기관 및 대학 실습실에 설치된 총 41대의 초음파 장비를 대상으로 ATS-539 팬텀을 이용하여 8개 항목의 영상 성능을 평가하였다. 각 항목별 영상은 6회 반복 측정 후 PACS viewer로 분석하였으며, 기관 유형, 사용 기간, 정도관리 여부에 따른 성능 차이를 통계적으로 분석하였다. 전체 장비 중 58.5%가 모든항목에서 적합 판정을 받았으며, 의료기관 장비의 적합률(75.0%)은 교육기관 장비(42.8%)보다 유의하게 높았다(p < 0.05). 장비 및 탐촉자의 사용 연한이 짧을수록 적합률이 높았으며(p < 0.05), 정도관리를 실시한 장비의 적합률(83.3%)은 미실시 장비(54.3%)보다 높았다. ATS-539 팬텀은 초음파 장비의 성능을 객관적으로 평가하는 데 효과적인 도구이며, 특히 교육기관의 장비에 대해서도 정기적인 품질관리와 정도관리가 필요하다. 본 연구는 초음파 장비의 성능 확보를 위해 국가 차원의 표준화된품질관리 기준과 정기적 평가 시스템의 도입 필요성을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to evaluate the imaging performance of ultrasound systems in clinical and educational institutions using the ATS-539 phantom, and to analyze performance differences based on device usage duration and the presence of quality control. The study further highlights the need for standardized national quality control guidelines. From January to February 2023, a total of 41 ultrasound devices installed in medical facilities and university laboratories in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions were evaluated. Eight image quality parameters were assessed using the ATS-539 phantom, with each parameter measured six times. Statistical analysis was conducted to determine differences based on institution type, usage period, and quality control implementation. Among the devices, 58.5% passed all performance criteria. Devices in medical institutions showed a significantly higher pass rate (75%) than those in educational institutions (42.8%)(p < 0.05). Devices with shorter usage periods demonstrated better performance (p < 0.05). Furthermore, systems with regular quality control showed a higher pass rate (83.3%) compared to those without (54.3%). The ATS-539 phantom is a reliable tool for objectively assessing ultrasound performance. Given that ultrasound units in educational settings are integral for basic training, regular performance evaluation and quality control are essential. This study underscores the urgent need for national-level quality control standards and systematic performance monitoring protocols.
