국문 초록

이 연구는 청소년의 사이버폭력 피해경험이 디지털 혐오표현에 미치는 영향을 폭력순환이론의 관점에서 검토하고, 사이버폭력 정당화와 사회적 지지체계의 조절효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 특히 온라인 환경에서 나타나는 탈억제 현상을 고려하여 사이버공간의 구조적 특성이 피해경험을 가해행동으로 전환시키는 과정을 더욱 용이하게 만들 것으로 가정하였다. 이를 검증하기 위하여 2024 사이버폭력 실태조사 청소년 데이터 9,479명을 대상으로 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 사이버폭력 피해경험은 디지털 혐오표현에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 이는 폭력순환이론이 사이버 공간에서도 적용됨을 실증적으로 확인한 결과이다. 사이버폭력 정당화는 이러한 관계를 강화하는 위험요인으로 작용하였다. 사회적 지지체계 중에서는 교사지지만이 유의한 조절효과를 보여 피해경험이 혐오표현에 미치는 영향을 완화하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 교사가 제공하는 사회자본이 청소년의 온라인 일탈행동을 억제하는 보호요인으로 작용함을 시사한다. 이 연구는 사이버폭력과 디지털 혐오표현 간의 관계를 실증적으로 확인하고 교사지지의 보호효과를 규명함으로써 청소년 사이버폭력 예방정책에 새로운 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the impact of adolescent cyberbullying victimization on digital hate speech from the perspective of cycle of violence theory and sought to identify the moderating effects of justifications of cyberbullying and social support systems. Particularly, considering the online disinhibition effect in digital environments, it was hypothesized that the structural characteristics of cyberspace would facilitate the process of converting victimization experiences into perpetration behaviors. To verify this, hierarchical regression analysis was conducted on data from 9,479 adolescents from the 2024 Cyberbullying Survey. The results showed that cyberbullying victimization had a significant positive effect on digital hate speech, empirically confirming that cycle of violence theory applies to cyberspace as well. Justifications of cyberbullying functioned as a risk factor that strengthened this relationship. Among social support systems, only teacher support showed a significant moderating effect, mitigating the impact of victimization experiences on hate speech. This suggests that the social capital provided by teachers acts as a protective factor that suppresses adolescents' online deviant behaviors. This study provides new implications for adolescent cyberbullying prevention policies by empirically confirming the relationship between cyberbullying and digital hate speech and identifying the protective effects of teacher support.
