커뮤니티 기반 섬 관광 발전방안 연구: 전라남도 ‘가고 싶은 섬 가꾸기 사업’을 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 섬이 새로운 관광목적지로 주목받는 시점에, 전라남도 ‘가고 싶은 섬 가꾸기 사업’을 중심으로 분석하여 커뮤니티 기반 섬 관광의 발전방안을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 본 연구의 방법으로는 ‘가고 싶은 섬 가꾸기 사업’을 추진중인 4개 섬을 중심으로 현장조사를 통해 살펴보고, 섬 코디네이터 1명을 포함한 지역주민 7명을 인터뷰를 병행하여 진행하였다. 결과 본 연구결과를 토대로 제시한 커뮤니티 기반 섬 관광 발전방안은 첫재, 지속가능한 섬 관광개발을 위한 과정적 모델을 마련하여야 하고, 두번째로는 섬의 고유자원을 활용한 차별화된 콘텐츠를 개발해야 한다. 세번째는 커뮤니티 중심의 체계적인 관광시스템을 구축하여야 하고, 마지막 네번째로는 주민참여 확대 및 관광형 커뮤니티 비즈니스 실행으로 관광사업의 효과성과 지속성을 확보해야 한다. 이를 통해 지역주민 중심의 커뮤니티를 기반으로 한 지속가능한 섬 관광 발전이 체계적으로 추진될 것이라 사료된다. 결론 본 연구는 커뮤니티 기반 섬 관광발전에 적용 가능한 정책적 함의와 실무적 시사점을 제시하였지만, 섬 관광 수요자인 관광객을 대상으로 실증적 분석을 하지 못한 한계가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 섬 관광 수요자 관점에서의 실증분석을 통해 본연구에서 제시한 방안들의 타당성을 검증할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose This study aimed to derive a plan for the development of community-based island tourism by analyzing the island's 'island development project you want to go to' in Jeollanam-do at a time when the island is attracting attention as a new tourist destination. Methods As a method of this study, the four islands that are pursuing the 'Island Cultivation Project You Want to Go' were examined through field surveys, and seven local residents, including one island coordinator, were interviewed in parallel. Results the community-based island tourism development plan presented based on the results of this study should prepare a process model for the first and sustainable island tourism development, and secondly, differentiated contents should be developed using the island's unique resources. Third, a community-centered systematic tourism system should be established, and fourthly, it is necessary to secure the effectiveness and sustainability of tourism projects by expanding resident participation and implementing tourism-type community projects. Through this, it is believed that the development of sustainable island tourism based on the community centered on local residents will be systematically promoted. Conclusion This study presented policy implications and practical implications applicable to community-based island tourism development, but there is a limitation in not being able to empirically analyze tourists who are island tourism consumers. In future studies, it is necessary to verify the validity of the measures suggested in this study through empirical analysis from the perspective of island tourism consumers.
