숏폼시대, 음식 다큐멘터리 스토리텔링 기법 연구: <혀끝으로 만나는 중국(舌尖上的中國)>의 숏폼 콘텐츠를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 장편 음식 다큐멘터리인 <혀끝으로 만나는 중국(舌尖上的中國)>이 숏폼 콘텐츠로 재구성되는 과정을 분석하여, 전통적 서사 구조와 시청각적 표현이 숏폼 환경에서 어떻게 유지되거나 변화하는지를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 원작 다큐멘터리의 스토리텔링 기법(서사 구조, 서사 스타일, 서사 기호)을 분석하고, 더우인(抖音)에서 숏폼 콘텐츠로의 전환 양상을 고찰하였으며, 시청자 인터뷰를 통해 수용자의 경험과 인식에 대한 정성적 연구로 진행하였다. 분석결과, 민족 정체성과 지역성, 감성적 몰입 유도 방식은 숏폼에서도 유지되는 반면, 서사는 압축적으로 재구성되고 감정 중심의 표현과 시각적 리듬이 강조되는 방향으로 변화하였다. 또한 플랫폼 알고리즘은 서사의 비선형화와 선택적 집중을 유도하며, 시청자들은 서사적 통합, 지역 및 민족 정체성 인식, 미학적 영상미, 정서적 공감, 그리고 철학적 성찰을 통해 음식 다큐멘터리의 감성적, 심미적 가능성을 확장하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 숏폼 시대에 적합한 음식 다큐멘터리의 스토리텔링 전략, 알고리즘 환경에 대한 적응, 수용자 중심의 문화 정체성 형성 전략, 그리고 콘텐츠의 실천적 활용 가능성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study explores how the feature-length food documentary A Bite of China is reconfigured into short-form content on Douyin. By analyzing the documentary's original and short-form storytelling techniques(structure, style, symbols) conducting in-depth interviews with viewers, the study examines how traditional storytelling adapts to short-form formats. Findings show that while ethnic identity, locality, and emotional engagement are largely retained, the narrative becomes more compressed and emotion-driven, with enhanced visual rhythms. Algorithmic influences lead to non-linear storytelling and selective focus. Viewers respond by deepening their emotional and aesthetic engagement with food content, recognizing cultural identity and engaging in philosophical reflection. The study suggests strategies for storytelling, algorithm adaptation, and audience-centered identity building in the short-form era.
