국문 초록

본 연구는 중국의 대표적인 2선 산업 도시 중 하나인 타이위안의 사례를 통해 2선 도시에서의 산업 유산의 보존과 적응적 재사용을 위한 정책 전략을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 특히 도시의 낙후된 산업 부지가 어떻게 지역 정책수요에 부응하는 도시 편의시설로 재개발되었는지를 보여주고자 하였다. 문헌 검토와 현장답사 자료 분석을 통해 산업유산의 적응적 재사용이 중국 2선도시 재개발 전략으로 채택되는 과정에서 중국 중앙정부와 지방정부 역할의 중요성과 하향식 유산 관리가 이루어지고 있음을 밝혔다. 이를 통해 중국 2선 도시의 도시 재생과 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 정책 인사이트를 제공하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the case of Taiyuan, one of the most well-known second-tier industrial cities in China, to explore policy strategies for the conservation and adaptive reuse of industrial heritage in China's second-tier cities. The study demonstrates how deteriorated industrial sites have been redeveloped into urban amenities responding to local policy needs. Through analysis of literature review and fieldwork data, it reveals the critical role of the Chinese central and local governments in the policy implementation on adaptive reuse of industrial heritage as urban redevelopment strategies in China's second-tier cities, not to mention, their top-down heritage management process. Finally, this study aims to provide policy insights for urban regeneration and sustainable development in China's second-tier cities.
