국문 초록

본 연구는 처음에는 국가 주도의 행사로 시작되어 성장해 온 ‘이순신 연계 축제’를 대상으로 그 역사·문화적 가치를 회복하고 축제의 지속 가능한 발전방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국사회의 현실과 정서에 부합(符合)하는 축제이론 부재로 인해‘축제다움’과‘정체성’이 모호해지는 문제가 ‘이순신 연계 축제’에서도 확인되었기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구는 관련 축제의 한계와 대안을 이순신과 임진왜란 해전 중심의 다학제적(多學際的, multi and interdisciplinary)연구 성과를 바탕으로 문화콘텐츠학의 관점에서 제시한다. 구체적으로는 축제의 하드웨어(Hardware, 인프라), 소프트웨어(Software, 콘텐츠), 휴먼웨어(Humanware, 참여 주체), 아트웨어(Artware, 예술적 요소)를 통합한 교육 플랫폼 구축 방안을 모색한다. 역사·문화적 가치 회복 측면에서는『난중일기』의 전술 재현이나‘척자점’콘텐츠의 활용 등 창의적인 프로그램 개발을 제안함으로써 향후 축제 발전을 위한 구체적인 방향성을 도출하고자 한다. 이러한 담론을 바탕으로 본 연구는 지속 가능한 발전방안에 초점을 맞추어 지역 공동체 활성화와 전국 이순신 축제 간 협력체계 구축 등 실현 가능한 전략을 모색한다. 궁극적으로는 이순신 연계 축제를 단순한 지역축제를 넘어서 한국을 대표하는 역사 교육 기능 강화 및 문화관광 융합 플랫폼으로 성장시키는 문화콘텐츠 기반 축제모델로서의 비전을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aims at investigating Admiral Yi Sunsin festivals, which were initiated as local-led festivals and have developed over time, to figure out how to restore their cultural and historical values and to develop them in the sustainable manner. Due to the inadequacy of festival theories that are corresponding to the reality and emotion of Korea, there has been a consistent confliction between ‘a true identity of a festival’ and ‘an identity of a festival theme’, so as in the case of ‘Admiral Yi Sun-sin festivals.’ Accordingly, this study explored findings of the multi and interdisciplinary studies on Admiral Yi Sunsin and naval battels of the Imjin War from the perspective of cultural contents, to address the limitations of these festivals and to suggest alternate options. To be more specific, for clear understanding, it suggests to develop an educational platform in integration with the hardware (infrastructure), software (contents), humanware (main participants), and artware (artistic elements) of the festival. As for the restoration of their cultural and historical values, it proposes the development of creative programs such as reenactment of tactics, described in Nanjung Ilgi, and exploitation of contents of Cheokjajeom to lay out a specific direction for the development of these festivals in the future. In consideration of these discourses and findings, this study aims to propose strategies that are realistic, practical, and sustainable - for example, activation of local communities in connection with these festivals and establishment of cooperative networks among these festivals throughout the nation. The ultimate purpose of this study is to present and develop Admiral Yi Sunsin festival as a representative model of Korean festivals - serving as a platform that converges both culture and tourism while strengthening their role in historical education.
