국문 초록

과거 장애인에 대한 보편적 시각은 비장애인의 몸을 중심으로 장애가 있는 몸은 결핍의 몸으로서 비정상의 범주로 구분되어 왔다. 이는 인간의 몸을 객관적 대상으로 치부함에 따라 발생하는 인간 소외의 문제로 장애에 대한 편견과 차별로 이어질 가능성이 다분할 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 연구는 과연 장애로서 손상이 있는 몸이 비정상인가라는 의문을 제기함에 따라 Merleau-Ponty의 인간의 몸에 대한 철학적 사유를 토대로 장애와 몸에 대한 본질적 이해에 목적이 있다. 현재 장애인의 몸에 대한 인식의 문제는 비장애인의 몸을 기준하여 발생하는 동일성에 따른 차별적 시선에서 발생하는 것으로 판단할 수 있다. 때문에 본 연구에서의 몸과 장애에 대한 비판적 고찰은 장애인에 대한 배려가 아닌 그들의 권리 확보에 단초로 작용될 것을 기대하는 바이다.

영문 초록

In the past, the prevailing view of the bodies of people with disabilities has been centered on the bodies of people without disabilities, with bodies with disabilities being labeled as deficient and abnormal. This can be conceptualized as a problem of human marginalization caused by the objectification of the human body, which leads to prejudice and discrimination against people with disabilities. Therefore, this study aims to understand the nature of the disability and the body based on Merleau-Ponty's philosophical thoughts on the human body by raising the question of whether the body with a disability is abnormal. Currently, the problem with the perception of the bodies of people with disabilities stems from the discriminatory view of sameness based on the bodies of people without disabilities. Therefore, the critical discussion of the human body and disability in this study can be expected to be a step towards ensuring the rights of people with disabilities, not merely a consideration.
