국문 초록

이 연구는 대학교 교양수업 중 문학 관련 수업을 수강한 학생들의 강의 중 <가사> 장르의 발표, 토론 등을 토대로 진행되었다. 학생들은 가사 <성산별곡>과 <고공가>를 <운현별곡>, <고통가>로 재창작하고 그것을 분석하여 고전시가의 현대적 변용에 대해 스스로 느끼는 시간을 가졌다. 이 창작물을 통해 수업에 참여한 학생들은 가사 장르의 창작이 어렵지 않음을 토론을 통해 발표하였다. 작품이 창작된 시기는 조선후기로 현재와는 매우 다름에도 불구하고 <운현별곡>, <고통가> 모두 유사한 정서를 공유하고 있다는 점에 대해 학생들은 이것의 ‘고전의 보편성’이라는 것을 깨달았다고 얘기했다. 시조가 1920년대 시조부흥운동으로 인해 국민문학으로 격상된 것과 달리 가사는 그 명맥을 이어가는데 급급했는지도 모른다. 하지만 ‘용대찬가’나 학생들이 창작한 작품을 볼 때 가사는 시조보다 오히려 더 쉽게 학생들이 창작할 수 있는 장르이다. 조선시대의 ‘가사’를 단순히 기존의 방식으로 가르친다면 앞으로 ‘가사’는 국문학과 전공학생들만 기억할 수 있는 장르가 될 것이다. 이제라도 교수자들은 학생들 의견을 수렴해 수업을 진행한다면 교양교육에서 고전시가를 활용할 충분한 의미를 가지게 된다. 이 연구는 필자 스스로의 반성에 의해 시작되었고 연구가 계속 진행되는 과정 속에서 나온 결과물이다. 이 연구 이후에도 필자는 학생들이 고전문학을 어렵다고 얘기하기보다는 현대에 왜 필요한지를 알게 하도록 노력할 것이다.

영문 초록

The study was based on announcements, debates, and other lectures given by students who took Literature Course. The students created and for the lyrics and . And students analyzed it and students had time to feel themselves about the modern transformation of classical poetry. Students who took part in the class through the work announced through the discussion that it is not difficult to create the Gasa genre. Although the period of the creation of the work was very different from the present time in the late Joseon Dynasty, the students shared similar emotions in the and , and they said that they realized that this was the universality of classics. Unlike the poetry of Sijo, which was promoted as a national literature due to the Sijo revival movement in the 1920s, Gasa may have been busy keeping up. However, when you look at or the works of students, lyrics are a genre that students can create more easily than the sijo. Even after the study, I will try to help students understand why they need classical literature in the modern world, rather than calling it difficult.
