바울의 윤리가 그의 신학적 확신에 기초한다는 전제를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 그리스도와의 연합과 그리스도를 본받음이 로마서 12:1-15:13에서 바울의 윤리적 권면을 형성하고 구조화하는 두 중심적인 신학적 틀로 기능한다고 주장한다. 바울은 그리스도와의 연합이라는 신학적 토대 위에 윤리적 권고들을 세우며(롬 12:1-2, 3-5; 13:11-14; 14:8-9; cf. 6:1-14), 그 연합 속에서 그리스도를 본받는 삶을 윤리의 규범이자 목표로 제시하여 신자들의 실천을 독려한다(12:9-13, 14-21; 13:1-7, 8-10, 12- 14; 14:9-10, 15; 15:1-13). 이 패턴과 구조 안에서 바울은 연합의 공동체적 차원(12:4-5; 14:10, 15; 15:7)과 그리스도의 주 되심(13:1-7; 14:8-9)을 연합의 실체적 현실로 강조한다. 주 되신 그리스도 안에서, 신자들은 그리스도께서 보여주신 이타적이고 희생적인 사랑과 겸손을 본받아 서로를 사랑하고 받아들이며 세워주어야 할 책임을 지닌다. 본 연구는 바울의 윤리적 가르침이 그의 신학에 유기적으로 뿌리내려 있으며, “연합”과 “본받음”이라는 주제를 따라 체계적으로 구성되어 있음을 보여준다. 또한 그리스도를 본받는 삶이 단순한 모방이 아니라 “연합”이라는 실체적 관계에서 비롯된, 그 안에서 작동하는, 은혜의 열매임을 밝힌다.

영문 초록

This study argues that union with Christ and the imitation of Christ serve as two central theological frameworks that shape and structure Paul’s ethical exhortation in Romans 12:1-15:13. Building on the premise that Paul’s ethics is rooted in his theology, it contends that Paul grounds his moral instruction in the reality of union with Christ(12:1-2, 3-5; 13:11-14; 14:8-9; cf. 6:1-14) and promotes ethical living through imitation of Christ(12:9-13, 14-21; 13:1- 7, 8-10, 12-14; 14:9-10, 15; 15:1-13) within that union. In this framework, union with Christ provides the theological foundation, while imitation of Christ functions as the ethical norm and goal. Paul highlights the corporate dimension of union(12:4-5; 14:10, 14; 15:7) and Christ’s lordship(13:1-7; 14:8-9) as core aspects of that union. In terms of imitation, Paul emphasizes Christ’s self-giving love and humility as the model for believers’ conduct. This analysis demonstrates that Paul’s ethical vision is coherently structured around these interrelated theological motifs, with the imitation of Christ arising from and remaining subordinate to the deeper, formative reality of union with Christ.
