국문 초록

본 연구는 경찰공무원의 직무소진이 사전적 경찰활동 감소에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 377명의 일선경찰관들을 대상으로 수집한 설문데이터를 활용하여 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 직무소진의 하위요인인 직무고갈, 직무냉소가 사전적 경찰활동 감소에 유의미한 정적(+)인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 직무고갈 및 직무냉소가 높은 일선 경찰관일수록 사전적 경찰활동에 감소가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 연구결과와 관련된 정책적 시사점을 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the current study was to examine how police officer job burnout affects the reduction of proactive policing or under-policing. To this end, multiple regression analysis was conducted using the survey data collected form 377 front-line police officers. Overall, it was found that job exhaustion and job cynicism among sub-factors of job burnout had a significant positive effect on engagement in under-policing. In other words, the higher the job exhaustion and job cynicism, the higher the decrease in proactive policing. Result suggest that officers who feel job exhaustion and job cynicism are more likely to engage in under-policing. Lastly, policy implications related to the research findings were discussed.
