예비유아교사의 다문화 경험이 다문화 감수성 및 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사를 대상으로 다문화 경험이 다문화 감수성과 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 J도와 C도에 위치한 3년제 유아교육과에 재학 중인 191명의 예비유아교사를 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 연구 문제별로 기술통계, Pearson 적률상관관계, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 예비유아교사의 다문화 경험은 다문화 감수성과 다문화 수용성 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 정적상관을 나타내었다. 둘째 다문화 경험이 다문화감수성과 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 다문화 감수성의 하위 요인인 상호작용 향유, 상호작용 유능감 그리고 문화 간 차이존중에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 다문화 경험은 다문화 수용성의 하위요인 중 다양성과 관계성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여 유아와의 상호작용을 통해 유아들의 가치관 형성에 영향을 미치는 예비유아교사가 향후 다문화교육을 현장에서 효율적으로 실행하는데 중추적 역할을 할 수 있도록 다문화 교육 방향에 대한 사사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of multicultural experiences on multicultural sensitivity and multicultural acceptance among pre-service early childhood teachers. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 191 pre-service early childhood teachers attending in universities majoring early childhood education in J and C Province. The findings are as follows: First, the multicultural experiences of pre-service early childhood teachers were found to have a significant positive correlation with multicultural sensitivity and multicultural acceptance. Second, multicultural experiences revealed that they have influences including enjoyment of interaction, intercultural competence and respect for intercultural differences. Additionally multicultural experiences were found to have a significant impact on the sub-factors of multicultural acceptance, particularly diversity and relationships. Based on these findings, this study suggests universities should provide curriculm not only acquire academic knowledge about multiculturalism but also gain diverse experiences that help students respect, accept and develop more open attitude toward multiculturalism.
