This study aims to examine the impact of perceived restorative environments in waterfront parks on visitors’ tourism attitudes, mediated by their attention restoration experiences. To directly capture visitors’ restorative experiences, the survey was administered to individuals actively using waterfront parks. Among various districts along the Han River, three sites—Banpo, Yeouido, and Nanji—were selected as the study locations due to their rich natural landscapes and high visitation frequency. A total of 320 valid responses were collected and analyzed for this research. The survey instrument included the Korean version of the Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS), an Attention Restoration Experience Scale, and items measuring tourism attitudes. The analysis revealed that the riverside environment of the Han River parks was perceived as highly restorative. Furthermore, visitors’ restorative experiences derived from engaging in park-based activities were found to positively influence their tourism attitudes. All sub-factors of the perceived restorative environment showed significant effects on attention restoration. Notably, the attention restoration experience emerged as the most influential factor shaping tourism attitudes. These findings suggest that among the various factors influencing the attitudes of visitors who seek nature for health and well-being, attention restoration is a particularly critical variable.
