국문 초록

Purpose - This study explores how CORSIA functions as a global standardization policy to support sustainable international aviation logistics. It compares the carbon reduction strategies of major developed countries, such as the U.S., EU, UK, and Japan, with South Korea’s carbon-neutral aviation policy. Design/Methodology/Approach - A comparative analysis was conducted using policy documents, official reports, and academic literature. The study examines the implementation of CORSIA, the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and the level of integration with international standards in each region. Findings - CORSIA provides a global framework for aviation carbon reduction, but implementation varies across countries. The EU and UK prioritize strong regulatory approaches and SAF blending mandates. The U.S. and Japan focus on innovation and market-based incentives to promote SAF and reduce emissions. South Korea is working to expand domestic SAF production but faces challenges due to high import dependence and gaps in policy alignment with global standards. Across all regions, the high cost and limited availability of SAF remain key barriers to widespread adoption. Research Implications - To improve the effectiveness of CORSIA, international policy harmonization and technological cooperation should be strengthened. The establishment of unified SAF certification systems and the expansion of production incentives are recommended. For South Korea, boosting domestic SAF capacity and aligning national policies with international standards will be critical to achieving carbon neutrality in aviation. Participation in global SAF initiatives and collaborative platforms will further support these efforts.
