국문 초록
Purpose - This paper examines the evolving role of social media in human resource management (HRM), focusing on how organizations integrate social media across various HRM functions and identifying emerging research themes in this domain.
Design/Methodology/Approach - Based on a systematic literature review of 53 peer-reviewed articles published between 2012 and 2024, along with real-world corporate cases, this study comprehensively analyzes how social media is utilized in recent HRM practices. The analysis synthesizes findings across multiple prior studies while capturing key shifts in academic focus, particularly in the post-COVID-19 era.
Findings - This paper examines the strategic use of social media across key HRM functions, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and employee engagement. Through a literature review, six thematic areas, such as employee advocacy, corporate reputation, and ethical governance, were identified. These reflect the expanding role of social media in contemporary HR practices.
Research Implications - The analysis underscores social media’s transformative role in organizational processes while revealing key research gaps in areas such as ethics, privacy, and context-specific effectiveness. Thus, the analysis highlights the need for further research on governance, boundary-setting, and cross-cultural dynamics to support the development of more strategic, resilient, and socially responsible HRM practices in the digital age.
