Objective: This study examines the perceptions of current kindergarten directors regarding their training experiences during the qualification process and their perceptions and needs for training to obtain integrated early childhood education and care(ECEC) institution director qualifications. Methods: A questionnaire was developed based on research related to director job training and qualifications for both kindergartens and childcare centers. The survey was administered to 280 currently employed childcare center directors, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: The findings of the study indicated that the training received during the qualification process was perceived as helpful for performing the director's duties, providing professional knowledge and skills, and motivating personal development. There were mixed views on the training required for obtaining integrated institution director qualifications following the integration, with both positive perceptions and concerns about its potential lack of usefulness. Conclusions: The study highlights diverse demands for training content and methods aimed at enhancing the qualities and job competencies of integrated institution directors. Based on these results, the study proposes the necessity of developing and supporting training programs for obtaining integrated institution director qualifications.
