국문 초록

2010년 이후 지역 인구감소 문제에 대한 위기의식이 지자체를 중심으로 심각하게 논의되고 있는 실정이다. 지역의 인구감소에 대해 생활인구를 확보하기 위해 시골의 유휴공간(빈집･폐교)을 활용해 방문객들을 유입케 함으로써 유휴공간 문제와 지역경제 활성화에 도움을 주고자 워케이션 사업이 추진되고 있다.특히 섬 지역은 다른 곳에 비해 더욱 급격히 인구감소와 지역소멸이 일어나고 있는 곳이기 때문에 워커이션 활성화가 더욱 중요한 시점이다. 따라서 섬 지역의 워케이션 활성화 방안으로 섬 지역에 대한 접근성을 높이는 방안, 원격근무를 지원하기 위한 인터넷 인프라 구축, 섬 지역의 특성과 자원을 활용한 워케이션 프로그램 개발, 섬 지역 워케이션의 지속가능성을 높이기 위한 재원확보, 정부와 지자체, 기업, 섬 지역 주민들의 상호 간 교류 확대, 관련 법령의 정비 등이 요구된다.

영문 초록

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES Island regions are experiencing a more rapid population decline and regional extinction than other local governments, so it is more important to activate workation. Therefore, this study aims to study the current status of workation in island regions and ways to activate it. (2) RESEARCH METHOD To study the ways, of the related theses, publications and statistics released in Korea and abroad, they are theoretically reviewed and the materials are obtained from related references. the above is used by literature reviews and survey analyses to achieve the purpose of this study. (3) RESEARCH RESULTS The spread of new work environments such as telework and remote work is developing digital technologies that can support new work environments such as video conferencing, cloud, and collaboration solutions. In particular, in the current crisis of regional population decline and regional extinction, it is time to promote regional development through the relocation of the living population to the region. In particular, in the case of island regions, it is necessary to seek legal and institutional measures to develop work and vacation through workation, and the government and local governments also need systematic support for this. 2. RESULTS Measures to activate workation in island areas include increasing accessibility to island areas, establishing internet infrastructure in island areas to accommodate remote work, developing workation programs that utilize the characteristics and resources of island areas, securing financial resources to increase the sustainability of workation in island areas, expanding exchanges between the government, local governments, businesses, and island residents, and revising related laws.
