국문 초록
The increasing significance of big data and artificial intelligence in defense has prompted the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) to leverage air track data from command and control systems and combat training systems across multiple operational domains. The effective utilization of this data requires systematic analysis to understand both its potential and limitations. This research employs the CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) framework to conduct a comprehensive examination of how the ROKAF utilizes air track data for operational enhancement. Through case study analysis, the research investigates three specific applications—flight safety management, ballistic missile classification, and air-to-air combat engagement analysis—using the sequential CRISP-DM phases of business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, and evaluation. The analysis reveals that air track data can enhance operational capabilities across all three applications. Nevertheless, several critical limitations emerged, including insufficient data quantity and quality, as well as inadequate integration and management infrastructure. To overcome these challenges, the research proposes three strategic recommendations: developing comprehensive data management systems, enhancing collaboration between data scientists and domain experts, and implementing explainable artificial intelligence techniques.
