국문 초록

국토 면적의 93%가 산악지형인 타지키스탄은 히말라야와 알프스 조산운동에 의해 형성된 대규모 광역 단층대와 봉합대를 포함하는 지체구조대 환경에 속한다. 타지키스탄의 지질은 다양한 성분의 퇴적암 및 변성암과 이들을 관입한 화성암으로 구성된 복잡한 지질구조를 보이며, 이러한 지질학적 환경 속에서 약 50여종 이상의 광물자원이 형성될 수 있는 기반을 제공하였다. 현재 타지키스탄은 새로운 광물자원의 잠재적 보고로 주목받고 있다. 타지키스탄은 산출되는 광물자원, 지구조 활동과 산출 암석의 분화 특성에 따라 5개 구역으로 나뉜다(북부, 북동부, 중앙, 남서부, 남동부인 파미르). 주요 광물자원은 안티모니, 수은, 금, 은, 텅스텐, 주석과 함께 희소금속인 리튬, 베릴륨, 세슘, 탄탈럼, 니오븀 등이 있다. 특히, 희소금속을 다량 함유하는 페그마타이트 광화대가 지속적으로 발견되고 있어, 다양한 원소로 구성된 새로운 광물 종도 등재되고 있다. 이러한 핵심광물의 새로운 자원 공급처로 제고되는 타지키스탄에 부존된 자원의 분포와 지질학적 생성 배경을 기술하여 향후 탐사 지침으로 활용될 수 있는 기초연구를 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Tajikistan, with 93% of its territory covered by mountainous terrain, possesses a complex geological structure shaped by the Himalayan and Alpine orogenic movements. This geological setting includes extensive fault zones and suture belts, accompanied by a wide range of sedimentary and metamorphic rock formations with associated magmatic activity. Within this environment, over 50 mineral commodities have been identified, positioning Tajikistan as an emerging repository of mineral resources. The country is divided into five geological regions based on its mineral deposits, tectonic activity, and lithological characteristics: the northern, northeastern, central, southwestern, and southeastern (Pamir) regions. Key mineral resources include antimony, mercury, gold, silver, tungsten, and tin. Additionally, pegmatite mineralization zones rich in lithium, beryllium, cesium, tantalum, and niobium continue to be discovered, alongside newly identified mineral commodities. This study presents a fundamental analysis of the distribution and geological formation of mineral resources in Tajikistan, whose status is increasingly recognized as a new supplier of critical minerals, with the aim of providing a scientific basis to guide future exploration.
