국문 초록

목적: 본 연구는 초등학교 6학년 학습자의 구어 의사소통 능력 향상을 목표로 수준별 교수학습 프로그램을 개발하고, 이 중 ‘기초’ 수준 프로그램을 실제 교육 현장에 적용하여 그 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법: 학습자의 의사소통 능력 수준을 ‘기초 미달’, ‘기초’, ‘보통 이상’으로 구분하여 모듈형 교수학습 프로그램을 설계·개발하였다. 이후 충청북도 소재 초등학교에 ‘기초’ 수준 프로그램을 적용하고, 관찰 일지, 면담 전사 자료, 학습 결과물 등을 수집하여 질적으로 분석하였다. 결과: 프로그램 적용 결과, 교사에게는 ‘발표 기회 제공에 대한 인식 변화’와 ‘의사소통 행동에 대한 구체적 지도 필요성 인식’이 나타났으며, 학생에게는 ‘발표에 대한 자신감 및 참여도 제고’, ‘의사소통 활동에 대한 흥미 및 동기 유발’의 효과가 확인되었다. 결론: 본 연구는 프로그램 적용의 효과 및 보완점을 토대로 구어 의사소통 교수학습 프로그램을 개선하고 적용 대상을 확대하여 장기적으로 그 효과를 검증할 필요성을 제안하였다. 아울러 다양한 교육적 맥락에서의 실천적 적용을 위한 후속 연구의 필요성도 함께 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to develop a leveled teaching and learning program to improve the oral communication skills of sixth-grade elementary school students and to analyze the effectiveness of the “basic” level program when applied in actual educational settings. Method: Students’ communication skills were categorized into “below basic,” “basic,” and “above average.” Based on this classification, a modular teaching and learning program was designed and developed. The “basic” level program was implemented in elementary schools in Chungcheongbuk-do, and observation logs, interview transcripts, and student work samples were collected and analyzed qualitatively. Result: The results of the program implementation showed that teachers recognized changes in their perception of providing presentation opportunities and acknowledged the need for more explicit guidance on communication behaviors. Students exhibited increased confidence and participation in presentations, along with heightened interest and motivation in communi- cation activities. Conclusion: The study highlights the need to refine the oral communication teaching and learning program based on the observed effects and limitations, expand its application to a broader range of students, and evaluate its long-term effectiveness. Furthermore, continued research is recommended to explore practical applications in diverse educational contexts.
