국문 초록

시편19편은 원래 두 개의 시편이 합쳐진 것이다. 하늘에 나타난 하나님의 영광을 찬양하는 시(1-6절)와 율법의 탁월성을 묘사하는 교훈시(7-14절)가 그것이다. 전반부는 고대 중동의 태양신 신화를 이스라엘이 신학적 개작을 통해 하나님의 창조물로 변개시킨 과정을 암시한다. 이것은 태양을 신으로 숭배하던 문화에 대한 유일신교적 항변이라 할 수 있다. 후반부는 제사장이 주도하던 시대에 율법이 인간을 계도하고 보상을 부여하는 하나님의 자기계시라는 사실을 선포한다. 인간은 이와 같이 두가지로 보여주신 하나님의 자기 계시를 통해 구원의 길을 따라갈 수 있다.

영문 초록

Psalm 19 is composed of two originally separated poems: (1) a hymn which praises the glory of God in the heavens(vv 1-6) and (2) a didactic poem which describes the excellence of the law(torah, vv 7-14). The first part of Psalm 19(Ps 19:1-6]=Psalm 19A) exhibits an Israel’s theological adaptation of the Sun-mythology of the ancient Middle East (especially of Babylonian sun-myth) in which the sun is worshipped as a god (Shamash). However, the Israelite Psalmist witnesses that the sun in Israel is not a divinity but a twinkling star only. Thus, the Psalm 19A is called as a monotheistic protest against the worship of sun as a deity. The second part of Psalm 19(Ps 19:7-14=Psalm 19B) must be attributed to the period, when the legislation of Priestly theologian[P] was the great central and substantial fact in the Hebrew religion. And so the Psalm 19B here declares that the torah is a brilliant means of the divine revelation by which humans are warned and gain much reward. In truth, those two divine self-revelations(the divine self-revelation in the stars of heavens and the divine self-revelation by the teaching of torah) must be two mirrors which will surely light up our ways with the torch of salvation.
