한중 노인 학습자 음악 학습 동기, 의향 및 학습 태도에 대한 특성 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 Houle의 학습 동기 이론을 바탕으로, 한국과 중국 노인 학습자의 음악 학습 동기, 의향 및 태도의 특성과 차이를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 양국의 노인 음악 교육에 대한 실천적 개선 전략을 제안하고자 한다. 방법 본 연구는 질적 연구 방법을 적용하여, 한국과 중국 노인 학습자의 음악 교육 참여 특성을 분석하였다. 한국에서는 문헌 분석을 통해 노인 학습자의 음악 교육 동향과 참여 특성을 도출하였고, 중국에서는 20명의 노인 학습자를 대상으로 반구조화된 인터뷰를 실시하여 주요 학습 동기와 참여 행동을 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 주제 분석을 통해 정리하였으며, 각국 노인 학습자의 학습 동기, 의향, 태도 및 장애 요인을 특성별로 도출하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 한중 노인 학습자의 학습 동기는 목표 지향, 활동 지향, 학습 지향으로 분류되었으며, 각국 학습자들은 서로 다른 경향을 보였다. 한국 학습자는 대체로 단기 과정과 사회적 교류를 선호하는 경향을 보였으며, 중국 학습자는 장기적⋅체계적 학습과 인지 기능 유지를 중시하는 경향을 나타냈다. 결론 본 연구는 한국과 중국 노인 학습자의 음악 교육 참여 특성과 학습 동기, 의향, 태도 및 장애 요인을 분석하여 노인 음악 교육에 대한 이론적 이해를 심화하고 실천적 시사점을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 노인 학습자의 학습 특성은 사회⋅문화적 배경에 따라 다르게 나타났으며, 이에 따라 교육 프로그램 설계 시 국가별 특성과 학습자의 요구를 반영할 필요가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 노인 학습자의 지속적인 참여를 유도하기 위해 학습 환경 개선, 맞춤형 교육 과정 개발, 교수법의 다양화가 요구된다. 향후 연구에서는 보다 다양한 지역과 학습 집단을 대상으로 심층 분석을 진행하여 노인 음악 교육의 보편성과 특수성을 규명할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to analyze the characteristics and differences in music learning motivation, intentions, and attitudes of elderly learners in South Korea and China based on Houle’s theory of learning motivation. It further seeks to propose practical improvement strategies for elderly music education in both countries. Methods Applying a qualitative research method, this study analyzed the music education participation characteristics of elderly learners in South Korea and China. In South Korea, trends and participation characteristics were derived through document analysis. In China, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 elderly learners to analyze their main learning motivations and participation behaviors. The collected data were organized through thematic analysis, and the learning motivation, learning intention, learning attitude, and barriers of elderly learners in each country were categorized according to their characteristics. Results The findings showed that the learning motivations of elderly learners in South Korea and China were categorized into goal-oriented, activity-oriented, and learning-oriented types, with different tendencies observed in each country. Korean learners generally preferred short-term courses and social interactions, whereas Chinese learners emphasized long-term, structured learning and the maintenance of cognitive function. Conclusions This study analyzed the participation characteristics, learning motivation, intentions, attitudes, and barriers of elderly learners in South Korea and China, thereby deepening the theoretical understanding of elderly music education and suggesting practical implications. The results confirmed that the learning characteristics of elderly learners differ according to socio-cultural backgrounds, highlighting the need to reflect national characteristics and learner needs in educational program design. Furthermore, improving the learning environment, developing customized curricula, and diversifying teaching methods are necessary to encourage the continued participation of elderly learners. Future research should conduct more in-depth analyses on various regions and learning groups to explore the universality and specificity of elderly music education.
