Green Culture in the Hospitality Industry: The Role, Challenges and Barriers

The hospitality industry is under increasing pressure to implement ecologically friendly practices in light of the expanding environmental issues and the pressing need for sustainable growth. The significance of green culture as a strategic force behind sustainability in the hotel industry is examined in this study. The study identifies the fundamental elements of green culture, such as environmental values, ecofriendly policies, leadership engagement, employee participation, green communication, and customer integration, and evaluates their impact on long-term financial performance, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, brand image, and operational efficiency. It does this by drawing on a thorough literature review. It also examines the various obstacles to putting green culture into practice, including monetary limitations, a lack of information, inconsistent regulations, and behavioral reluctance. The study suggests a thorough implementation methodology and key performance indicators to help hotel managers create and maintain a green culture in order to address these issues. The results offer useful insights for promoting organizational transformation through environmental values and add to the theoretical underpinnings of sustainable hotel management. It is advised that future studies examine cross-cultural applications, the function of digital innovation, and the long-term effects of green culture on organizational results.
