국문 초록

1984년 요한 바오로 2세 교황은 청년 희년을 계기로 세계청년대 회(WYD)의 필요성을 인식했고, 1986년부터 이를 시작했다. WYD는 청년들이 그리스도 안에서 진리와 사랑을 발견하고 공동체적 삶을 통해 복음을 실현하도록 돕는데 목적이 있다. 본고는 디지털 전환 시대에 WYD의 청년 선교적 사명을 실현하는데 기여하기 위해 디지털 세계를 중심으로 활동하는 청년 세대의 특징을 살펴보고, 이들을 위한 목회를 구상함에 있어 필요한 목회적, 신학적 제언을 제공한다. 이러한 노력은 2027년 서울 WYD를 준비함에 있어 염두에 두어야 할 청년 목회의 한 축을 환기시키고, 그리스도교 공동체의 청년 사역이 디지털 세계에까지 확장될 수 있는 계기를 마련할 것이다.

영문 초록

In 1984 Pope John Paul II recognized the need for a global Catholic gathering dedicated to young people. This led to the official establishment of the World Youth Day (WYD) in 1986. WYD exists to help young people encounter truth and love in Jesus Christ and to embody the Gospel through communal life and faith practice. This paper aims to contribute to the missionary vocation of WYD in the digital age by examining the distinctive characteristics of the digitally native generation and offering theological and pastoral reflections for ministering to them. Such an exploration seeks to illuminate a key dimension of young adult ministry to be considered as the Church prepares for WYD 2027 in Seoul, creating opportunities for Christian communities to expand their ministry into the digital domain.
