놀이중심 보육과정 운영을 위한 교사의 놀이지원 및 자율성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사 역할의 핵심인 놀이 지원자로서의 역할에 초점을 맞추어 놀이 지원의 구체적인 요소와 놀이 지원을 위한 자율성 실현 정도를 파악함으로 보육의 질 향상을 위한 제언과 교사 교육의 방향성을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 문제는 첫째, 놀이중심 보육과정에서 놀이 지원 요소에 대한 교사의 인식과 실천은 어떠한가? 둘째, 놀이중심 보육과정에서 놀이 지원을 위한 교사 자율성의 인식과 실천은 어떠한가?이다. 연구 대상은 보육경력 4년 차 이상의 직장 어린이집과 국공립 어린이집 교사 16명이다. 연구 방법은 교사들의 인식과 실제적인 실천 여부를 파악하기 위해 포커스 그룹 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview: FGI)를 실시하였다. FGI는 비대면 줌(zoon)으로 실시하였고, 절차는 질문구성, 예비면담, 면담을 위한 팀구성, 본면담, 자료전사 순으로 진행되었다. 연구결과, 첫 번째 연구 문제에서 원활한 놀이 지원의 요소는 놀이공간과 시간으로 나타났고, 여전히 어려운 놀이 지원의 요소는 놀이 개입과 상호작용, 놀이 자료의 제공이었다. 두 번째 연구문제 관련해서 자율성 실현이 어려운 이유는 사전 계획안 작성, 학부모나 원장의 놀이중심 보육과정에 대한 이해 부족으로 나타났다. 자율성 실천을 위해 구성원의 지원 마인드, 원장과 교사 대상 교육, 다양한 사례 공유 등이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study aims to provide suggestions for improving the quality of childcare and the direction of teacher education by focusing on the role of a play supporter, which is the core of the teacher's role, and identifying specific elements of play support and the degree of autonomy realized for play support. The research questions are as follows: First, what are teachers’ perceptions and practices of play support elements in play-centered childcare? Second, what are teachers’ perceptions and practices of autonomy for play support in play-centered childcare? The subjects of the study were 16 teachers at public and workplace daycare centers with more than 4 years of childcare experience. The research method was a focus group interview (FGI) to determine the teachers’ perceptions and actual practices. FGI was conducted via non-face-to-face Zoom, and the procedure was conducted in the following order: question composition, preliminary interview, team formation for the interview, main interview, and data transcription. As a result of the study, the elements of smooth play support in the first research question were play space and time, and the elements of play support that were still difficult were play intervention and interaction, and provision of play materials. Regarding the second research question, the reasons for the difficulty in realizing autonomy were revealed to be the lack of advance planning and the lack of understanding of the play-centered childcare process by parents and directors. To practice autonomy, supportive mindsets from members, education for directors and teachers, and sharing of various cases are necessary.
