국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구의 목적은 교육지원청 소속 순회 언어재활사의 다문화 발달장애 학생 지원 경험을 탐색함으로써 그들의 언어 특성과 치료지원 현장의 실제와 효과적 지원 방안을 살펴보는 데 있다. 연구방법: 광역시, 대도시, 중소도시 등에서 근무하는 순회 언어재활사 6명을 대상으로 개별 심층 면담을 진행하였고, 수집된 자료는 지속적 비교 방법에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 다문화 발달장애 학생의 언어 특성은 다문화와 인지적 기능의 장애가 상호 교차되는 가운데 복잡하고 다양하게 나타나고 있었다. 또한 언어 발달에는 경제적 어려움, 한국인 아버지의 부재, 외국인 어머니의 특성, 가정 내 의사소통 환경 등이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 언어재활사들은 다문화 발달장애 학생의 문화적·언어적 다양성을 반영한 평가의 부재로 실제 발달 수준과의 괴리를 느끼고 있었고, 이에 생태학적 정보 수집(인터뷰), 민감한 관찰 등의 문화감응적 평가 접근을 활용하고 있었다. 셋째, 언어재활사들은 다문화 발달장애 학생의 언어적·문화적 특수성을 반영한 공식 평가 도구 개발, 다양한 분야의 협력적 체계 구축, 순회 언어재활사의 다문화 역량 개발 등을 효과적 지원 방안으로 인식하였다. 논의: 다문화 발달장애 학생 대상 특수교육 관련 서비스를 지원의 어려움 개선을 위해 포용적 관점에서의 다문화 교육과 특수교육 지원 방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of itinerant speech-language pathologists(SLPs) employed by educational support offices in supporting students with developmental disabilities from multicultural backgrounds, and to examine their language characteristics, the realities of treatment support in the field, and effective support measures. Method: This study was individual in-depth interviews with six itinerant SLPs working in metropolitan, large, medium, and small cities, analyzed the collected data using continuous comparison methods. Results: The results emphasize the complexity of language development influenced by cultural and cognitive factors, and highlight the need for formal assessment tools, assessment that takes cultural sensitivity into account, the establishment of collaborative systems, and the strengthening of multicultural competencies due to the limitations of assessment tools. Conclusion: The study concludes by discussing inclusive perspectives on multicultural education and special education support strategies to improve services for multicultural students with developmental disabilities.
