국문 초록

본 연구는 10·16 부마민주항쟁의 발생사에 해당하는 부산상대생 시위의 발생 경과와 동인(動因)을 주로 검토한 것이다. 부마항쟁 발생일로부터 거의 반세기가 경과했지만 아직까지 10.16의 발생사는 제대로 정리되지 못하고 있다. 게다가 운동권 중심설이 등장하여 심각한 역사 왜곡이 더해지고 있다. 본고는 1979년 10월 16일의 부산상대생의 시위를 온전하게 복원하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법으로는 연구의 객관성을 담보하기 위해 부산시경 분석자료 등 공적 기록에 근거하여, 역사적 사실에 부합하는 증언과 구술을 활용하여 부산대학생의 내적인 사회비판의식의 성장을 해명하는데 초점을 맞추었다. 말하자면 운동권 중심설에 대치되는 내재적 접근법이라고 명명할 수 있다 내재적 접근법에 따르면 부산대의 10·16 민주운동에서 상대생 시위가 결정적인 역할을 하였다. 또한 50명의 상대생 시위가 상상을 초월하는 대규모 학생대중투쟁으로 전화했던 것도 이런 내재적 요인들이 주요하게 작용한 것이었다.

영문 초록

This study primarily examines the progression and driving factors behind the protest by students of the College of Commerce at Pusan National University, which constitutes the origin of the Buma Democratic Uprising of October 16, 1979. The purpose of this paper is to reconstruct the student protest at Pusan National University's College of Commerce on October 16, 1979, in its entirety. According to this intrinsic approach, the protest by the students of the College of Commerce played a decisive role in the October 16 democratic movement at Pusan National University. Moreover, the transformation of a protest by merely 50 students into a large-scale student mass movement beyond imagination was primarily driven by these intrinsic factors
