济南市餐饮业新生代农民工的市民身份认同困境

In the process of new urbanization, the issue of identity recognition among new-generation migrant workers has emerged as a key topic in social integration. This study takes Jinan’s catering industry as a case, combining field investigation with theoretical analysis to examine the identity dilemma faced by these workers in urban settings. The findings reveal that although the group generally demonstrates strong adaptability to urban life and a willingness to settle in cities, they continue to encounter significant barriers in institutional inclusion, social interaction, and psychological belonging. The catering industry’s high labor intensity, insufficient protection, and unclear promotion channels hinder the establishment of stable career expectations and social recognition. Simultaneously, the lack of social insurance coverage, high thresholds for household registration, and limited opportunities for civic participation exacerbate the structural tension of living in the city, but not being part of it. The study further argues that optimizing institutional inclusion pathways, expanding industry development prospects, and strengthening community integration mechanisms are essential for resolving the identity fracture and promoting a shift from physical presence to psychological belonging among new-generation migrant workers.

영문 초록

在新型城镇化进程中，新生代农民工的市民身份认同问题逐渐成为社会整合的重要议题。本文以济南市餐饮行业为例，基于实地调研与理论分析，聚焦新生代农民工在城市中的身份认同困境。研究发现，尽管该群体普遍具备较强的城市生活适应能力与定居意愿，但在制度接纳、社会交往与心理归属等层面仍面临诸多障碍。餐饮行业工作强度大、保障不足、晋升路径模糊，使新生代农民工难以获得清晰的职业预期与社会认同；同时，缺乏社保覆盖、落户门槛高及社会参与机会稀缺，也在结构上加剧了生活在城市，难成为城市人的现实张力。本文提倡应通过优化制度接纳路径、提升行业发展空间与增强社区融入机制，逐步化解身份认同断裂，推动新生代农民工由“物理融入”走向“心理归属”。
