국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 몬테소리의 『Il segreto dell'infanzia』(1938)와 번역본 『어린이의 비밀』(2011)에 나타난 몬테소리의 유아교육의 방법적 원리를 교육본질론적 관점에서 이해하고, 그 교육적 시사점을 밝히는데 있다. 이 연구의 방법은 문헌연구이다. 몬테소리의 『어린이의 비밀』에 나타난 유아교육의 방법적 원리는 육화의 원리, 작업의 원리, 개별화의 원리, 흡수의 원리, 몰입의 원리이며 이에 근거한 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아에 대한 이해와 존중에 근거한 몬테소리 교육의 방법적 원리는 진정한 유아중심교육은 유아를 고유한 개별적 존재로 이해하고 인격적으로 존중해야 함을 시사한다. 둘째, 몬테소리 교육의 방법적 원리에서 교육자의 역할은 유아가 성장하기에 적합한 환경을 조성하는 것이며, 그 환경 중에서 교육자 자신이 가장 중요한 환경임을 시사한다. 셋째, 신체와 신체활동에 근거한 육화의 원리는 정신에 경도된 현대 한국의 유아교육에 신체와 신체활동이 중요함을 시사한다. 넷째, 몬테소리의 교육방법론은 교육현장에서의 직접적인 경험과 실천에 근거하여 제시되었다는 점에서 한국 유아교육 실제에 시사하는 바가 크다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the methodological principles of early childhood education in Montessori's “Il Segreto del'infanzia”(1938) and the translation “Children's Secret” (2011) from the perspective of educational essence and clarify its educational implications. A literature study was employed. The methodological principles of early childhood education in Montessori's “Children's Secrets” are pedagogy, work, individualization, absorption, and immersion, and the implications based on this are as follows. First, the methodological principle of Montessori education based on understanding and respect for infants suggests that true early childhood-centered education should understand infants as unique individual beings and respect them personally. Second, the role of the educator in the methodological principle of Montessori education is to create an environment suitable for young children to grow up in, and it suggests that the educator himself/herself is the most important environment. Third, the principle of pedagogy based on the body and body activity suggests that the physical and physical activities are important for early childhood education in modern Korea, which currently focuses on the mind. Fourth, Montessori's educational methodology has great implications for the practice of early childhood education in Korea in that it focuses on direct experience and practice in the educational field.
