교장 해외교육 체험연수 인식 연구 - 경기도교육청 교장 자격연수를 중심으로

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 교장 해외교육 체험연수의 대상자와 기획자의 경험과 인식을 분석하여, 연수의 성과와 한계를 규명하고, 해외교육 체험연수가 교장의 전문성 향상에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있는 방안을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 해외교육 체험연수에 대한 교장의 인식과 요구를 파악하기 위해 교장 자격 소지자를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층 면담을 실시하고, 이를 통해 수집된 질적 데이터를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 해외교육 체험연수는 교장이 기존의 권위적 리더십에서 벗어나 교육 활동을 지원하는 조력자로서의 역할을 모색하도록 하는 긍정적인 효과를 나타냈으며, 국내외 교육 시스템을 비교하고 교육적 통찰력을 넓히는 기회를 제공한다는 점이 확인되었다. 교장 간 상호작용을 통한 네트워크 형성을 촉진함으로써 이후 학교 운영에서 실질적인 협력적 기반을 마련할 가능성을 보여주었다. 그러나 사전 교육의 부족, 연수 형식의 일방성, 형식적 결과 공유 방식, 평가 체계의 한계 등 연수 효과성을 저해할 수 있는 문제도 드러났다. 결론: 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 해외교육 체험연수가 교장 전문성 강화에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있도록 사전 교육 및 주제 탐구 중심의 연수 제공, 학습공동체 구성을 통한 학습 내실화, 체계적인 연수 평가 방식 개선 등을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study analyzed the experiences and participants of participants and training program planners regarding overseas educational field trips, identifying both the effectiveness and limitations of such training to explore ways in which principal professional development can substantively contribute to educational practice. Methods: To achieve this, a survey and in-depth interviews were conducted with principals holding qualification certification to examine their perceptions and needs related to overseas educational field trips, and the qualitative data collected were analyzed. Results: The study found that these trips had a positive effect by encouraging principals to move beyond traditional authoritative leadership to adopt supportive roles in educational activities. The trips also provide principals with opportunities to compare educational systems and broaden their educational insights. Furthermore, the trips foster interaction among principals, promoting network-building that could later serve as a collaborative foundation for effective school management. However, issues such as insufficient pre-training, the unilateral format of training sessions, superficial result-sharing, and limitations in the evaluation system were identified as potential barriers to training effectiveness. Conclusion: Based on these findings, this study suggests improvements to enhance the substantive impact of overseas educational field trips on principals’ professional development, including pre-training and theme-focused exploration, fostering learning communities to deepen engagement, and for developing a structured evaluation system for these programs.
