국문 초록

목적 기후변화의 영향은 성 중립적이지 않으며, 어린 시기에 경험은 성인이 되어서까지 영향을 줄 수 있다. 특히, 아동은 다른 계층에 비해 기후변화로 인한 일상생활에서의 스트레스와 면역 반응을 예방하거나 대처할 수 있는 역량이 제한되어 있다는 점에서 이들의 성별에 따라 기후변화에 대한 감정이 영향을 주는 요인을 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 한국 아동의 성별에 따른 기후변화에 대한 감정과 실천역량 및 기후변화 대응·전망 간의 다집단 분석을 통해 영향력을 주는 경로를 명확하게 검증하는 것이다. 방법 본 연구는 한국의 아동 729명을 대상으로 다집단 구조방정식을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구결과, 실천역량은 기후변화에 대한 감정이 기후변화 대응·전망에 영향을 주는 과정에서 부분매개하는 것을 확인했다. 성별에 따른 다집단 결과 ‘실천역량’→‘기후변화 대응·전망’ 경로에서 남학생에 비해 여학생이 더 많은 영향을 주는 것을 확인했다. 결론 주요 연구결과는 아동의 성별에 따라 다른 지원방안이 필요함을 시사하는 것이다. 그리고 기후변화에 적극적으로 대응할 수 있는 교과 외 교외활동 지원의 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The impacts of climate change are gender biased. Children have limited capabilities to prevent or cope with the daily stresses and immune responses caused by climate change compared to other age groups. Methods The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence pathways between climate change emotions, practice competency, and climate change responses and the prospects of 729 Korean children by gender through a multigroup analysis. Results The results confirm that practice competency partially mediates the process through which emotions about climate change influence climate change responses·prospects. The multigroup analysis by gender shows that female students are more influential than male students in the pathway of “practice competency” → “climate change responses·prospects.” Conclusions The main findings suggest that different support measures are needed depending on the gender of a child. In addition, by proposing strategies to support extracurricular activities that actively address climate change, we have contributed to promoting climate action aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.
