국문 초록

In Trollope’s later years, he made a detailed portrayal a fierce criticism of the Britain society in The Way We Live Now, which has a certain degree of foresight and warning. From the perspective of neo-historicism, this paper intends to explore the forward-looking and contradictory ideologies of Trollope. While criticizing social values, Trollope is deeply trapped in self-contradiction: on the one hand, he tries to give people a warning by exaggerating social contradictions; On the other hand, Trollope wanted people to conform to the traditional social order and morality, so the merchant such as Melmotte led to his tragedy of demise. However, the aristocracy he sang about returning to the idyllic beauty after the unrestraint, putting a shadow of conservatism on his own forward-looking.

영문 초록

特罗洛普晚年在作品《如今世道》中对世风进行了细致的刻画与猛烈的批判，有着一定的预见性和警示性。本文意图从新历史主义的视角出发，挖掘特罗洛普作品的前瞻性中矛盾的意识形态。作者在对社会价值观提出批判的同时，又深深地困于自我矛盾的心理中：一方面，他试图通过夸大社会矛盾的方式给予人们警示；另一方面，特罗洛普希望人们归顺传统的社会秩序与道德，因此以麦尔默特为例的商人走向了灭亡的悲剧。然而他所歌颂的贵族在放浪后回归田园牧歌的美好，又让自身的前瞻性蒙上了保守主义的影子。
