중년여성 모-자녀 관계 세대 간 전이에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중년여성들의 모-자녀와의 관계를 분석하여 세대 간 전이의 과정을 연구하는 것이다. 방법 중년여성들과 친정어머니, 자녀의 세대 간 전이 과정을 알아보기 위해 질적 사례 연구 방법을 채택하였다. 연구 참여자는 중년 기혼여성 11명이고, 문항은 과거, 현재의 모-자녀 관계 경험을 6문항으로 구성하여, 질적 사례 연구 방법을 하였다. 결과 상위범주는 친정어머니와의 관계 경험, 중위범주 모란이 피기까지, 구절초, 하위범주 섭섭함과 서운함, 양가감정,’무관심, 깊은 정과 관심, 정신적 지주, ‘버팀목으로 나타났다. 상위범주는 자녀와의 관계 경험, 중위 범주 거름, 햇살, 높은 울타리 하위범주 통제함, 이해심 부족, 배움의 씨앗, 시행착오, 친밀감, 안정감으로 나타났다. 세대 간 전이 유형은 대물림 형. 청개구리 형, 알아차림 형, 하위범주는 마트료시카, 엄마의 거울, 데칼코마니, 메아리, 숨은 그림자, 울돌목, 빛나는 보석, 프리즘으로 나타났다. 결론 중년 기혼여성을 둘러싸고 있는 세 개 간의 갈등을 이해하고 미래의 가족관계를 조망하는 중요한 자료를 제공하였다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study is to analyze the relationship between middle-aged women and their mothers in order to in the process of intergenerational transmission in their relationship with children. Methods A qualitative case study methodology was adopted to examine the intergenerational transmission process between middle-aged women, their birth mothers, and their children.11 middle-aged married women were recruited to perform a qualitative case study, which was employed for data analysis. The interviewquestions were reconstructed into six questions based on the past and present experiences of the mother-child relationship. Results The research findings revealed three main categorical structures:The first structure examined experiences with birth mothers, where the highest category was “Experience of Relationship with Birth Mother.” This included middle categories of “Until the Peony Blooms” and “Gujeolcho” (a traditional Korean flower), with lower categories encompassing feelings of disappointment and hurt, ambivalent emotions, indifference, deep affection and attention, spiritual pillar, and supporting foundation. The second structure focused on experiences with children, where the highest category was “Experience with Children.” Its middle categories consisted of “Fertilizer,” “Sunlight,” and “High Fence,” while the lower categories included control, lack of understanding, seeds of learning, trial and error, intimacy, and sense of security.The third structure identified types of intergenerational transmission, which emerged in three main types: Inheritance type, Contrary type, and Awareness type. These were further detailed in lower categories as Matryoshka, Mother's mirror, Decalcomania, Echo, Hidden shadow, Uldolmok, Shining jewel, and Prism. Conclusions It is meaningful in that it provided important data for understanding the generational conflicts surrounding middle-aged married women and looking at future family relationships.
