국문 초록
Propose: This study was conducted to explore nursing students' perceptions of strengthening nursing competency, particularly analyzing changes in perceptions of nursing competency before and after clinical practice within the nursing curriculum.
Methods: Interviews were conducted with 95 nursing students enrolled at universities located in Gangwon-do and Gyeonggi-do. Six open-ended questions were used as the research tool, and the collected data were analyzed using content analysis.
Results: Nursing students emphasized clinical practice experience, critical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities as key elements for strengthening nursing competency. Furthermore, after experiencing clinical practice, they became more aware of the importance of nursing competency and expressed the need for practical education to provide patient-centered care.
Conclusion: The study shows that nursing students recognize the need for clinical practice and curriculum to be effectively structured for strengthening nursing competency. Based on these findings, there is a need for improvement in nursing education programs and the development of competency-based educational programs.
