국문 초록

이 연구는 졸업대학 소재권역 간 청년층의 첫 일자리 질의 차이와 이에 미치는 영향요인을 살펴보았다. 특히, 시점이동(10년 차이)에 따른 졸업대학 소재권역 간 첫 일자리 질의 차이가 존재하는지 분석하였다. 아울러 분석결과를 기반으로 성인 진로교육에 주는 함의를 간략하게 도출하였다. 이를 위해 한국고용정보원의 ‘대졸자직업이동경로조사’ 중 제10차, 19차 자료를 활용하였다. 통계분석 방법으로 ‘부분비례오즈모형’과 이행예측 확률을 추정하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 서울권 대학 졸업자는 비수도권 대학 졸업자보다 선호하는 일자리로의 이행 가능성이 크지만, 비선호 일자리로의 이행 가능성은 적었다. 둘째, 서울권 대학 졸업자의 선호하는 첫 일자리로의 이행의 우위는 여전히 존재하지만, 그 정도는 2011년도 대비 2020년도에 다소 낮았다. 셋째, 개인 배경과 취업준비노력, 취업준비경험 변수들을 통계적으로 통제한 상황에서도 졸업대학 소재권역, 특히 서울권 대학 졸업이 첫 일자리 질에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 추정되었고, 이는 통계적으로 유의하였다. 조사시점 이동에 따른 변화에서도 2020년도에 비수도권 대비 서울권 대학이 첫 일자리 질에 미치는 영향은 감소한 것으로 추정되었다.

영문 초록

This study examined the differences in the quality of the first job among young adults based on college location and the factors affecting it. Particularly, it analyzed whether there is a difference in the quality of the first job between college location over a time shift (10-year difference), utilizing the 10th and 19th rounds of data from the ‘Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey’. Also, based on the empirical analysis, this study drew some implications for adult career education. Statistical analysis methods included the ‘partial proportional odds model’ and the estimation of transition probabilities. The results revealed that firstly, graduates from in-Seoul universities were more likely to transition to preferred jobs than those from non-Seoul area universities, but less likely to transition to non-preferred jobs. Secondly, the advantage of in-Seoul university graduates transitioning to preferred first jobs still exists, but the extent was somewhat reduced in 2020 compared to 2011. Thirdly, even after controlling for various variables, the impact of college location, especially graduating from in-Seoul universities, on the quality of the first job was statistically significant. The impact of in-Seoul universities on the quality of the first job had decreased in 2020 compared to non-Seoul areas, even with changes over the survey time points.
