국문 초록

페드로 알모도바르의 영화 <내 어머니의 모든 것>(All about my mother, 1999)은메타드라마와 메타시네마의 요소를 효과적으로 결합하여 영화와 연극의 경계를 허물고, 예술과 삶의 유사성과 융합적 상호작용을 탐구한 독창적인 작품으로 평가된다. 본연구는 <내 어머니의 모든 것>을 중심으로 메타드라마와 메타시네마의 복합적 특성을 분석하여, 알모도바르의 작품이 지닌 독창적 표현 방식과 예술적 가치를 조명하고자 한다. 연구 방법으로 문헌 연구를 활용하여 메타드라마와 메타시네마의 개념 및 기법을체계적으로 정리하고, 이를 분석 틀로 삼아 영화를 체계적으로 고찰함으로써, 영화와연극이라는 서로 다른 장르의 융합을 통해 생성된 독특한 서사 구조를 밝혀냈다. 또한, 현대 연극과 영화연구에서 두 매체의 융합적 관점을 제시한 첫 사례로서의 의미를 탐색하였다. 이는 두 장르 간 상호작용을 이해하는 데 기여하고, 관련 학문 분야에새로운 시각을 제공할 것이다. 본 연구는 메타드라마와 메타시네마에 대한 융복합적연구가 아직 초기 단계에 머물러 있는 상황에서 새로운 학문적 토대를 마련하고, 이에 대한 이론적 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Pedro Almodovar’s film All About My Mother is acclaimed as an original work that effectively combines elements of metadrama and metacinema, breaking down the boundaries between film and theater while exploring the similarities and integrative interactions between art and life. This study aims to illuminate Almodovar’s unique expressive methods and artistic value by analyzing the complex characteristics of metadrama and metacinema centered on All About My Mother. Through a literature review, we organized the concepts and techniques of metadrama and metacinema and used this as an analytical framework to systematically examine the film. As a result, we unveiled the unique narrative created through the fusion of the heterogeneous genres of film and theater, presenting the significance of this work as an important example that offers a convergent perspective of the two media in contemporary theater and film studies. Given that research combining metadrama and metacinema from a convergent perspective is still insufficient, this study seeks to contribute to establishing a new academic foundation and developing related theories by highlighting Almodovar’s innovative communication methods.
