국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2022 개정 수학과 교육과정에서 신설된 ‘등호와 동치 관계’ 성취기준이 교과서에서 어떻게 구현되었는지 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이 성취기준이 구현된 4학년 검정교과서 9종을 전반적인 구성(차시 배치, 차시 수, 등식 구조, 시각적 모델)과 활동 유형(등호 의미, 등식 추론, 등식 해결)을 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 등호와 동치 관계 차시는 주로 규칙 찾기 단원의 후반부에 배치되었으며, 1~3차시로 구성되었다. 또한 모든 교과서에서 a+b=c+d 구조의 등식을 활용하였으며, 주로 양팔 저울과 같은 시각적 모델을 사용하였다. 활동 유형의 경우 대체로 세 가지 활동 유형을 모두 활용하였으며, 이중 등호 의미 활동이 가장 높은 비중을 차지했다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 등호와 동치 관계 성취기준이 교과서에서 어떻게 반영되었는지를 논의하고, 향후 교과서 개발 및 교육과정 개선을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the newly introduced learning standard on the equal sign and equivalence in the 2022 revised mathematics curriculum was implemented in elementary mathematics textbooks. Specifically, nine fourth-grade mathematics textbooks adopting this standard were examined. The analysis focused on both the overall structure (i.e., unit composition, number of lessons, equation structures, and visual models) and the types of activities (i.e., meaning of the equal sign, equation-reasoning, and equation-solving). The results showed that lessons on the equal sign and equivalence were predominantly placed in the latter part of the fourth-grade “Finding Patterns” unit and spanned one to three lessons. Additionally, all textbooks incorporated the equation structure a+b=c+d and frequently employed visual models, such as balance scales. Regarding the types of activities, the three activity types appeared in a relatively balanced manner, although activities related to the meaning of the equal sign accounted for the largest proportion. Based on these findings, this study discusses how the learning standard on the equal sign and equivalence was reflected in textbooks and provides implications for future textbook development and curriculum improvement.
