국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 외국인 학부생의 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 중급 취득을 목표로 하는 한국어 집중 수업의 명암을 확인하고 이를 바탕으로 학부 유학생 대상 한국어 교육과정 개발 및 운영의 문제점을 고찰하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 특정 대학에서 24-2학기에 실시한 8주 300시간의 집중 이수 한국어 수업을 관찰하고 학생과 교수자 대상의 설문조사 및 성적 자료와 문서 등의 데이터를 분석하여 교육과정 운영 사례를 기술하였다. 분석 결과, 학생들은 집중 이수 수업이 TOPIK 준비에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 인식하는 반면 과도한 수업 시간과 학습 분량 및 잦은 평가에 대한 피로감을 상당히 느끼는 것으로 나타났으며 교수자 또한 집중 이수 수업의 부정적인 측면에 더욱 주목하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the advantages and disadvantages of compressed Korean language courses aimed at helping foreign undergraduate students achieve an intermediate level on the Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) and to identify issues in developing Korean language curricula for undergraduate international students. To achieve this, the study observed an 8-week, 300-hour compressed Korean language course conducted during the 24-2 semester at A University, analyzing data from surveys of students and instructors, as well as performance records and related documents. The analysis revealed that while students perceived the compressed course as having a positive impact on their TOPIK preparation, on the other hand they experienced significant fatigue due to the class hours, learning volume, and evaluations. Instructors, also, appeared to focus more on the negative aspects of the compressed courses.
