국문 초록

음악의 시간적 연계성은 서로 다른 연대의 층위로 이화된 음악적 실천이라는 문화적 체계의 단편들을 동시대에 공존할 수 있도록 결속함으로써, 인문학적 텍스트로서의 음악을 통한 문화적 소통 가치를 재발견하는 계기를 마련함은 물론 음악의 인문학적 정체성을 확립하기 위한 논의의 토대를 제공한다. 따라서 본고는 음악에 내재한 인문학적 특질을 표면화하여 인문학적 텍스트로서 음악의 사회적 지점을 구체화할 수 있는 논리적 이해의 기반을 확보하고, 음악을 경유한 인문학의 실천적 가치를 재조명하여 인문학으로서 음악의 사회적 기능을 재확인할 수 있는 음악인문학적 사유의 토대를 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 본고의 중점 연구과제인 음악의 인문학적 정체성을 살펴보기 위하여 관련 연구의 문헌 분석에 따른 해석인식론적 연구방법을 채택함으로써, 인문학 본령의 해석적 수행에 기초한 음악인문학적 사유와 연접할 수 있는 방법론적 틀을 구축할 수 있다. 인문학으로서의 음악에 대한 논의의 본질은 음악이 과연 인문학으로 수용될 수 있는가에 대한 논의의 차원을 넘어, 인문학의 문제가 곧 음악의 문제이며, 인문학의 사회적 역할과 그 가치가 곧 음악의 그것과 결코 분리될 수 없는 명제임을 반영한다. 이로써 인문학의 실천학적 지위를 복권하기 위해 오히려 음악이 인문학을 포섭할 수 있는 가능성을 담지하는 음악인문학적 사고를 위한 논거를 더욱 공고히 할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

The temporal continuity of music binds together fragments of musical culture separated by different eras, allowing them to coexist in the same era. This provides a basis for discussion to rediscover the value of cultural communication through music as a humanistic text and to establish the humanistic identity of music. Therefore, this study aims to secure a logical understanding foundation that can concretize the social point of music as a humanistic text by bringing to the surface the humanistic characteristics inherent in music, and also to lay the foundation for music humanities thinking that can reaffirm the social function of music as humanities by reexamining the practical value of humanities through music. In order to examine the humanistic identity of music, a hermeneutic epistemological research method based on literature analysis of related studies was adopted, thereby establishing a methodological framework that can be connected to music humanities thinking based on interpretive performance, which is the essence of humanities. The discussion on music as a humanities goes beyond whether music can be accepted as a humanities, reflecting the proposition that the problems of the humanities are problems of music, and that the social role and value of the humanities can never be separated from those of music. With this, we hope to further solidify the argument for ‘musical humanities thinking’ that holds the possibility that music can encompass the humanities in order to restore the praxiological status of the humanities.
