국문 초록

본 논문은 이오 밍 페이 건축디자인에서 나타나는 기하학 특성을 연구하는 논문이다. 건축디자인에서 나타나는 기하학 형태적 특성을 1978년 이후 건축물 사례를 중심으로 분석하여 그 결과를 도출하는 것이 목적이고, 본 연구를 통하여 기하학 표현 및 특성을 도출하는 것이 본 연구의 의의이다. 본 연구의 결과는 이오 밍 페이(Ieoh Ming Pei)의 시대별, 장소별 건축디자인이 다르게 나타나지만, 본 연구에서는 1978년 이후 국외 건축물이라고 한계를 정하였다. 이오 밍 페이는 1978년 내셔널 아트 갤러리를 작품을 중심으로 기하학적 건축디자인 형태를 구현하였으며, 이러한 작품은 AIA GOLDEN MEDAL을 수상하게 되는 계기가 되었다. 본 연구는 이오 밍 페이 건축디자인 사례를 통하여 기하학의 표현 특성을 분석하고 도출하는 연구논문이다. 일체화, 변환화, 확장화는 이오 밍 페이 건축적 표현 특성을 통하여 나타난 것이며, 이러한 특성은 기하학 형태 언어를 통하여 도출된 것으로 순수기하학적 도형의 근본적 형태로 나타난다. 이렇게 도출된 기하학의 순수도형 특성 및 표현적 개념 특성은 현대에 즐비한 비정형 건축들 사이에서 원형의 형태를 지키고, 근본적 형태를 유지하는 이 오밍 페이 건축디자인 형태를 상기시킨다. 앞으로 본 연구를 기반으로 기하학적 형태적 개념 특성 도출인 건축디자인 원형의 형태 개념 연구에 발판이 되길 바란다.

영문 초록

This paper studies the geometric characteristics of Ieoh Ming Pei's architectural design. The purpose is to analyze the geometrical form characteristics of architectural design and derive the results by focusing on architectural cases after 1978, and the significance of this study is to derive geometric expressions and characteristics through this study. The results of this study show that Ieoh Ming Pei's architectural designs differ by period and location, but this study limits them to overseas buildings after 1978. Ieoh Ming Pei implemented geometric architectural design forms centered on the National Art Gallery in 1978, and these works became the opportunity for him to win the AIA GOLDEN MEDAL. This study is a research paper that analyzes and derives the geometrical expression characteristics through Ieoh Ming Pei's architectural design cases. Integration, transformation, and expansion are the characteristics of Ieoh Ming Pei's architectural expression, and these characteristics are derived through the language of geometric forms and appear as the fundamental forms of pure geometric figures. The pure geometrical characteristics and expressive conceptual characteristics of the geometry derived in this way remind us of the architectural design form of O-Ming Pei, which maintains the original form and fundamental form among the many irregular buildings in modern times. It is hoped that this study will serve as a foundation for the study of the form concept of the architectural design prototype, which is the derivation of geometrical morphological concept characteristics.
