국문 초록

Objectives: This study aimed to examine the levels of anxiety and depression among agricultural and fishery market workers and to verify their relationship with dry mouth symptoms. Methods: A survey was conducted from August 10 to 31, 2023, to investigate anxiety, depression, and dry mouth symptoms. Results: First, differences in dry mouth symptoms based on levels of anxiety and depression showed that dry mouth was most severe in individuals with severe or higher anxiety disorders and moderate or higher levels of depression(p<0.001). Second, anxiety, depression, and dry mouth symptoms showed significant quantitative correlations(p<0.001). Additionally, anxiety and depression were significantly associated with dry mouth symptoms(p<0.001). Conclusions: The findings regarding the impact of mental health factors on dry mouth symptoms provide meaningful baseline data for improving the establishment of an integrated health management system and policy support for workers. Future research should examine the mental health issues of market management workers, taking into account their working conditions and environments, and identify the causal relationships between these issues and various oral symptoms that could lead to oral diseases.
