무전공 입학생의 입학과 전공선택과정에 대한 근거이론 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 무전공 입학제가 확대되고 있는 시점에서, 무전공 입학생들의 무전공 입학과 전공선택과정에 대한 근거이론연구를 수행하였다. 방법 충분히 연구되지 않은 사회적 현상에서 구조적 현상을 파악하는데 적합한 근거이론 연구방법을 적용하여 연구를 수행하였다. J지역 K대학 무전공 입학생 19명을 연구참여자로 선정하여, 반구조화된 면담을 실시하고, 관찰자료를 추가하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 근거이론 연구방법에 따라 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩의 과정을 거치면서 근거자료에 따른 범주를 도출하였다. 결과 이를 통해, 102개의 개념, 1개의 중심현상과 15개의 범주, 37개의 하위범주를 발견하였다. 인과적 조건, 맥락적 조건, 중심현상, 중재적 조건, 작용 및 상호작용 전략, 결과 패러다임을 각각 표로 제시하고, 연구 결과를 구조화하여 패러다임 모형을 제시하였다. 또한, 무전공 입학생의 입학과 전공선택과정에 대한 과정분석모형과 상황모형을 제시하였다. 결론 본 연구는 무전공 입학생의 전공 선택과정을 심도있게 이해하기 위해 근거이론 연구방법으로 시도된 첫 연구라는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 연구의 의미와 제언을 기술하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives In this study, in a situation where the non-major admission system is expanding, a grounded theory study was conducted on the non-major admission and major selection process of non-major students. Methods To this end, the study was conducted by applying grounded theory research methods appropriate for identifying structural phenomena in understudied social phenomena. 19 non-major students from K University in J region were selected as research participants, semi-structured interviews were conducted, and data were collected by adding observation data. The collected data went through the process of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding according to the grounded theory research method to derive categories according to the evidence. Results Through this, 102 concepts, 1 central phenomenon, 15 categories, and 37 subcategories were discovered. Causal conditions, contextual conditions, central phenomena, mediating conditions, action and interaction strategies, and result paradigms were presented in a table, and the research results were structured to present a paradigm model. In addition, a process analysis model and a situational model for the admission and major selection process of non-major students were presented. Conclusions This study is significant in that it is the first study attempted using grounded theory research methods to in-depth understand the major selection process of non-major students, and the meaning and suggestions of the study are described.
