현대중국어 간접부정의 사용과 의사소통 효과

국문 초록

중국인이 일상적인 의사소통 과정에서 간접부정을 완곡한 어조로 다양한 화행을 표현하여 의사소통의 효율성을 높이는 것을 살펴보았다. 간접부정은 형식과 전달되는 의미의 불일치를 나타내며, 부정 의미는 있으나 고정된 부정 형태가 없다. 간접부정의 특성으로는 맥락 의존성과 전제의 필요성을 들 수 있으며, 공손함을 나타내는 간접부정은 직접부정보다 상대방의 인지·심리에 긍정적인 영향을 줌으로써 원활한 의사소통을 가능하게 한다. 간접부정은 의문문, 명령문, 가정문 등 다양한 문형으로 유연하게 표현되며 그에 따른 추론도 다양하다. ‘为什么’, ‘怎么’, ‘什么’ 등을 사용한 의문문으로 간접부정을 표현하여 비난, 항의, 충고 등을 완곡하게 나타냄으로써 원만한 의사소통을 할 수 있다. ‘小心’, ’当心’, ’提防’ 등을 사용한 명령문으로 간접부정을 표현하여 예상되는 부정적인 결과에 대해 완곡한 경고, 조언 등을 전달함으로써 상대방으로부터 부정적인 반응을 일으키지 않고 의사소통을 원활하게 할 수 있다. ‘如果’, ‘假如’, ‘要是’ 등을 사용한 가정문으로 간접부정을 표현하여 화자의 판단, 감정 등을 완곡하게 전달하여 의사소통에 활기를 더해준다. 이처럼 의사소통 과정에서 간접부정의 사용은 원활하고 활기 있는 의사소통을 가능하게 하는 수단이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to demonstrate the efficiency of communication by using indirect negation that euphemistically conveys various meanings. Indirect negation is flexibly expressed in various sentence patterns. Therefore, it has strong expressive power and reasoning power. The characteristics of indirect negation are contextual dependence and premise necessity. Indirect negation, expressed in interrogative sentences using ‘为什幺’, ‘怎幺’, ‘什幺’, ‘谁’, ‘什幺时候’, and ‘哪儿’ facilitates communication by euphemistically expressing refutation, advice, protest, assertion, etc. Indirect negation, expressed in imperative sentences using ‘小心’，’当心’, ’提防’ and ’警惕’ enables smooth communication by euphemistically expressing warning, caution, prohibition, suggestion, etc. without triggering negative reactions from the listener. Indirect negation, expressed in hypothetical sentences using ‘如果’, ‘假如’, ‘要是’, ‘若是’ and ‘倘若’ revitalizes communicatiion by euphemistically conveying the speaker’s subjective views, emotional states, judgments, advice, etc. In conclusion, the use of indirect negation in the process of communication in modern Chinese is a tool for efficient communication.
